Advanced Air Seminar: Foundry Process Ventilation
On May 13, 2026, AFS TC Chapter held an interactive Advanced Air Seminar by Greg Kramer covering Foundry Process Ventilation. Using an air blower and simulated ductwork system, Greg demonstrated how changes to an air handling system can either improve or adversely impact the effectiveness of a dust collection system.
The seminar covered ventilation design guidelines and showed how incorrectly balanced systems could cause loss of valuable raw materials and risk of premature wear on ductwork. The seminar was held in-person at United Surface Preparation in Anoka, Minnesota and presented virtually via TEAMS.
Greg Kramer is a licensed professional engineer with 18 years of experience in the Foundry industry. His technical expertise includes foundry processes and equipment, industrial ventilation design and troubleshooting, environmental health and safety compliance, and best practices. Greg works as the regional industrial sales director for Badger Mining Company.
New: We plan to offer events like this online to allow for remote attendance. While we encourage in-person participation, we understand that busy schedules don’t always make that possible.
This event will be streamed via Microsoft Teams. A meeting invitation will be emailed to registered attendees prior to the event.
