AFS Twin Cities Chapter travels to Rosemount to tour Spectro Alloys on Wednesday, January 15th beginning at 3:00 p.m.

Aluminum is the world’s greatest recycling success story and Spectro Alloys is at the heart of it. Founded in 1973, Spectro uses industry leading technology to turn what’s used into what’s new by recycling aluminum for die casters and foundries. The recycled material is then made into new products people use every day in automotive, power sports, home, turf and snow maintenance, and many other industries. In 2024, Spectro Alloys became part of Emirates Global Aluminum, the biggest ‘premium aluminum’ producer in the world.

Also in early 2024, Spectro Alloys began construction on a $71 million expansion to add new aluminum recycling capabilities to Spectro’s Rosemount campus. Spectro Alloys, the leading Midwest-based aluminum recycler, plans to recycle more end-of-life scrap aluminum to improve recycling in Minnesota and meet growing demand for recycled aluminum sheet ingot and extrusion billet in regional markets.

When tours are completed, a social hour and dinner will be held at Spectro and catered by Las Tortillas, starting at 5:00pm. This tour and meeting are being held in partnership with the North American Die Casting Association (NADCA).

**Closed toed shoes, safety glasses and hardhats are required for the tour. A hardhat can be provided for those who don’t have one. Dress for outside weather, as most of the tour will be outside. Please arrive promptly at 3pm so groups can be divvied up and tours can begin on time.
