Osha Silica Law: Where do we stand now?
AFS Twin Cities Chapter is hosting the annual meeting at Jax Cafe, 1928 University Avenue NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418 on Tuesday, February 11th, 2020, beginning with a Social at 5:00pm.
This month’s meeting will be an open discussion on the OSHA Respirable Silica Law and how as an industry we are doing to comply with the new regulations. The standard established a new 8-hour time-weighted average (TWA) permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 50 ug/m3, and associated ancillary requirements. Angst and panic was set off when the new erquirements were released. Lobbyists fought the new requirements, but lost. There were steps and proactive measures taken so that we, as an industry, could comply with the new regulations. Share your stories and insights as to what we did in our foundries and what made us compliant and successful. Share what steps others have done or suggest other steps you may want to try.
