SUMMARY:Optimization of the MgFeSi Treatment Process
DESCRIPTION:In case you missed it...\n\n\n\nThe Twin Cities Chapter hosted
a presentation by David Kesse\, Technical Customer Service Manager of Elke
m Silicon Products at Joseph’s Grill on November 13th. David recently jo
ined the Elkem technical team after 19 years in the cast iron industry. Da
vid is a graduate of Iowa State University with a Bachelor's degree in Mat
erial Science and Engineering\, and later obtained his MBA from Indiana Un
iversity. After 15 years at Metal Technologies\, he moved to Caterpillar
’s Mapleton Foundry where he added heavy section casting and compacted g
raphite to his metallurgical repertoire. At his new role at Elkem\, he is
most excited about giving back to the industry and getting back to basics
and training the next generation of foundry workers. David discussed optim
ization of the MgFeSi treatment process and cost reduction alternatives fo
r ductile iron treatment. Thank you\, David\, for this very informative to

Technical Customer Service Manager of Elkem Silicon Products on November
13th\, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Joseph's Grill in St. Paul\, MN for a pre
sentation titled "Optimization of the MgFeSi Treatment Process".\n\nAbout
the Presentation:\n\nDavid will be talking about the optimization of the M
gFeSi treatment process and cost reduction alternatives for ductile iron t
reatment.\n\nMeet the Speaker:\n\nDavid recently joined the Elkem technica
l team after 19 years in the cast iron industry. David is a graduate of Io
wa State University with a Bachelor's degree in Material Science and Engin
eering. Later\, he obtained his MBA from Indiana University. He spent 15 y
ears at Metal Technologies as metallurgist at their Auburn Casting Center.
There\, he became fascinated by the foundry industry and successfully tra
nsitioned the plant from only gray iron production to a gray/ductile blend
. He then moved to Caterpillar's Mapleton Foundry where he added heavy sec
tion casting and compacted graphite to his metallurgical repertoire. At hi
s new role at Elkem\, he is most excited about giving back to the industry
