 \, to the afternoon Tech Talk on Tuesday\, September 10th\, 2019 at 3:00pm
  at the Green Mill in Plymouth\, Minnesota. Beginning at 4:15pm\, Mary wil
 l discuss "Hiring and Managing a Diverse Workforce" and how AAM accomplish
 ed this by non-traditional recruiting and targeting a diverse cultural wor
 kforce.\n\nAbout the Speaker... Mary is the Human Resources Manager at AAM
  Casting in St. Cloud. She has 25 years of HR experience and 16 of them ha
 ve been with AAM. Mary graduated with a Social Work Degree but quickly cha
 nged her career path after working in the field and gave a two week notice
  and left the great state of Minnesota and moved to California. Meeting he
 r husband Tim and having two children\, she finally convinced him in 1993 
 to move back to Minnesota\, where they purchased a small convenience store
  and operated it for 8 years. At that time\, they didn’t have any issue
 s finding employees. In 2001\, they moved to the St. Cloud area and Mary 
 worked at FDC as their recruiter and benefits Coordinator.   In 2003\, M
 ary was hired by Grede\, now AAM\, as an HR Coordinator with the focus on 
 recruiting and benefits. Mary continued to work in HR and is now the HR Ma
 nager.\n\nAbout the Topic... In the past 25 years\, there have been many d
 ifferent challenges in the recruiting world – going from high unemployme
 nt rates to low unemployment rates\, going from standard 8 to 5 shifts to 
 offering flex scheduling\, advertising in the newspaper or radio to advert
 ising on buses\, at sports arenas\, and even advertising in bathroom stall
 s. Trying to find qualified candidates are forcing employers to become cre
